Pierre Vogel also known as Abu Hamza is a German convert to Islam. He is also a former professional Boxer. As a youth Vogel took up boxing, becoming German Junior-Master. After 66 amateur fights he turned professional at the age of 22, fighting as a Cruiserweight for the Sauerland club and was undefeated in seven bouts. Vogel embraced Islam in 2001 and started Islamic studies in Germany. For two years he studied Arabic and the Quran at the private school Om Al-Qura in Mecca. He came back 2006 to Berlin and started teaching Islam in the Al-Nur-Moschee mosque Neukölln, in Universities and even amongst Christian congregations. He is widely known as a German internet-TV preacher.

The number of Germans who have converted to Islam has increased fourfold within one year — despite the negative perception of Islam among the general public. A soon-to-be-published study on Islamic life in Germany confirms the Cologne doctor’s impression. The study sheds light on a phenomenon that may seem surprising given the image of Islam in Germany, where the religion is often associated with terrorism, forced marriages and honor killings: In Germany, some 4,000 people converted to Islam between July 2004 and June 2005. The study, which was financed by the Interior Ministry and carried out by the Soest-based Muslim institute Islam Archive Germany, reveals that the number of converts increased four-fold in comparison to the previous year.

Allegation: The Qur’an contains at least 500 hateful verses against Pagan Hindus.

Response: Nowhere in the Qur’an or even in the Hadith literature can one find the word ‘Hindu’. The word ‘Hindu’ doesn’t exist in the Islamic literature at all. Some Hindu fanatics mischievously insert the word ‘Hindu’ in some passages of the Qur’an and quote them out of context in an attempt to create Hindu-Muslim hatred, communal riot, and bloodshed in India. The following Qur’anic verses, however, refer to the Idolaters and Polytheists:

6.108: Revile not ye those whom they call upon besides Allah, lest they out of spite revile Allah in their ignorance. Thus have We made alluring to each people its own doings. In the end will they return to their Lord, and We shall then tell them the truth of all that they did.

22.17: Those who believe (in the Qur’an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians, Christians, Magians, and Polytheists – Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment: for Allah is witness of all things.

As it is clearly seen, contrary to the invidious propaganda, Qur’an teaches the opposite.

Allegation: Only criminals and drug addicts convert to Islam.

Response: Firstly, if criminals and drug addicts are converting to Islam and becoming good humans, then the credit must go to Islam, as they were criminals and drug addicts because of their previous religions and/or upbringings. It can also be found from their testimonies that they have become better humans after embracing Islam. Secondly, it’s a mischievous lie that only criminals and drug addicts convert to Islam. In fact, they are a tiny fraction of the total converts. According to many western reports, hundreds of thousands of people are converting to Islam every year, and most of them are well-educated and decent humans. Many of them are more educated and smarter than those who propagate this kind of lie.

Allegation: Only black people convert to Islam in America.

Response: Firstly, Islam is free from racism and doesn’t differentiate between black and white. All humans are equal in the Sight of God except piety and good deeds (Qur’an 49:13). The Prophet said, “All Mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action.” Secondly, it’s a lie in broad day light that only black people convert to Islam in America.

Allegation: Only a few white women have converted to Islam, and it’s because of marriage.

Response: Firstly, it’s also a white lie. Because most of the women have converted to Islam before or after marriage. Maybe a part of them have converted because of marriage. Secondly, the number of white women converts to Islam is estimated to be a lot, not a few. Thirdly, it doesn’t matter whether they convert to Islam because of marriage as they eventually study Islam and believe in it wholeheartedly.
