Read your response to Mr Abid. I appreciate your question and as an avid student of history, would like to make a few clarifications. First of all, did you mean Rome when you said "Ram"? The Roman Republic was formed around 509 BC after a few hundred years of monarchy. During and after the rule of Gius Julius Caesar (100 BC-44 BC) Rome became a monarchial form of empire. For your information, all the Romantic Languages(French, Spanish, Italian etc), English and German are offshoots and influenced by Latin, the Roman lingua franca. If you have figured the timeline, then you would realize that the Roman Empire was the center of the civilized world even before the birth of Jesus Christ. You may have heard of Alexander the Great(356 BC-323 BC) who conquered almost the whole known world in his short 33 years life. He had won over the Persian Empire of Darius III. Darius I of Persia had attempted invasion of Athens the heartland of Greek civilization in 492 BC. So you see, ancient Persian civilization goes back thousands of years, right during the times of Mesopotemia and Babylon. If you want more info, I can suggest a few titles to get hold of.
